Rotspon Bojer is named after an old, partly long-forgotten merchant ship. It is an amber-coloured whisky matured in casks that previously contained Bordeaux wine, for no less than 12 years old.
This is a fruity whisky with vanilla, spicy elements like pepper, and fennel. It also has its own signature; oak character, tobacco leaves and hay notes.
Bojer pays tribute to the ships coming into the Hamburg port bringing their precious liquid cargo used in creating Rotspon wine.
Nose: Lovely, fruity nose with red berries, red wine and grapes. Vanilla, oak, eucalyptus, white pepper, aniseed, tobacco leaves and hay notes.
Flavor: Fruity and somewhat sweeter palate with a soft, buttery texture and light, oaky spice.
Aftertaste: Dry with warm, oaky spice and dried fruit.
The Mackmyra Rotspon Story
The Rotspon series is a tribute to the Hanseatic era, which has been marked by the German-Swedish trading relationship that is still in effect today.
In collaboration with Christoph von Have, the current owner of the von Have winery. We have carefully selected different 225-litre Rotspon barrique casks for each addition.
The series is a true curiosity for whisky connoisseurs and both lovers of rarity and fans of the "Mackmyra style" will be able to taste their very own piece of history.
